#b_sides: Nirvana - Aneurysm

“Aneurysm” was first recorded in the studio on January 1, 1991, by Craig Montgomery at the Music Source in Seattle, Washington and was first released as a B-side on the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” single later in the year. It was re-released on the 1992 tour EP Hormoaning which was only released in Australia and Japan. It was also released on the rarities box set, With the Lights Out in 2004 and again on the 20th anniversary “Deluxe” reissue of the Nevermind album in 2011.

A second studio version was recorded on November 9, 1991 for the BBC radio program, Mark Goodier’s Evening Session. It appears on the band’s 1992 rarities compilation album, Incesticide, and features a faster tempo, and a wider stereo effect.

Awesome song.
