18 August 2011. Inferno, Traralgon, Victoria.
Cola Wars were the support band. Despite having a local connection they didn’t exactly pull a big crowd. They sounded terrible. I entertained myself by trying to guess how many mirror balls were on the ceiling.

Then Jebediah started. Although the gig was part of the official Kosciuszko album tour they still played plenty of the older songs.

The security guards throughout the night were being the usual dicks. They had singled one, quite drunk guy to pick on and about half way through the Jeb’s set they kicked him out. Sure he was pretty loose but he wasn’t bothering anyone and was having a great time. He didn’t deserve to get kicked out. The band stopped playing, out of complete disbelief. Vanessa started a “bring him back” chant, of course the crowd joined it.

Kev had a sit down and refused to play until the guy was let back in.

Finally the guy was let back in and Jebediah started playing again.

For the final song they asked the crowd what they wanted to hear. I was right up the front and quickly started a “Teflon” chant, as it was the one old-school song that I never heard them play. I later found out that they don’t play it because they hate it. They let rip with a heavy rock version of Teflon with Kev spending most of the song in the crowd.

Ironically the guy that got kicked out was the one to lift Kev onto his shoulders and carry him around at the end of the song.

It’s been a long time since I’d had that much fun at a gig. It made me feel like I was 18 again. Definitely one of the highlights of my 3 years spent in Traralgon.
